God doesn’t Kill
Folks this might be shocking to some people but it’s the truth as revealed by Jesus Christ who is the only express image of the father. God has never killed and God will never kill. This doesn’t mean that God cannot kill, No He can(He is sovereign)but He has not and will never and you know why? Because it’s not His nature and Character to kill. Before you start quoting scriptures I like you to hold on, and study it holistically in context and then weigh it through the life of Jesus Christ. It’s this misguided view of God that makes a Christian to pray for God to kill his or her enemies who hurt them. Folks this issue is very dear to my heart and I’m constantly broken in my spirit when I see Christians with distorted view of God.

Why is it important that we understand God’s nature through Jesus? it’s because Jesus Is God revealed to mankind. The Bible is not a revealer of God, but rather Jesus is. We see alot of killings in the Bible especially in the old Testament that were all attributed to “God”, ranging from the Story of Noah and the flood, The Massacre of the Cannanites, the Wars Isreal as a nation fought with other nations, the drowning of the Egyptian soldiers, and all others too many to mention. At first glass of this stories in the Bible for a Christian we feel that these actions are God ways of protecting “us His obedient and chosen people” But the more I have studied and asked the Holy spirit for answers and explanation to all of this, the clearer it it got. We are constantly misrepresenting the father to the world and our Children and our children in turn will pass this same false perception of God to the next generation and who wins in this all? The Devil. Ignorance of our Father is a gift to the devil and he so loves it.

We read that God killed Ananias and Saphire for lying but no it was not God. Peter lied but he was not killed, many Christians today as well lie but God has not killed them. We read that God killed the first born sons of the Egyptians, drown their soldiers, sent plagues to their land because they enslaved the Israelite, But no God did not. If you say He did, then God should have also destroyed America and Britain for the Euro-America slave trade( Transatlantic Slave Trade which started in the 16 to 19th century and transported approximately 10- 12million Africans to America and Europe. Yet today United state is the richest, strongest and most powerful nation in the world and Britain also the same thing. Whatever killings, and evil you see in the old Testament attributed to God, is a product of a people who are still growing in their knowledge of God.

Romans 5:8 reads: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this While we were still sinners Christ died for us” I believe that there’s something seriously wrong with our knowledge of our Father and that’s affecting our relationship with Him and how we treat people and I think it hurt the heart of God, to see His Children with such a skewed knowledge of Him. 10 years ago, if someone has told me the same thing I’m writing in this post now I will certainly rebuke such a person and gradually stop talking to them. But you see, I feel the Holy spirit is available to reveal this truth to as many as are willing to open their heart and mind to Him like I did. John 10:10 reads: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”.

God has never killed and will never kill anyone. God did not even kill the first murderer on earth Cain. One reason why so many of us has a misguided view or perception of God is poor contextual reading of biblical events. I like you to know that English language today as a lexicon is only one thousand five hundred years old hence, the Bible was not originally written in English. That would mean that a good steward of the word must look for the origin of words and how they are being used. We need to take cognizant of PRETEXT (text before), CONTEXT( middle text), and POSTEXT(text after context). Doing this helps you get a better picture and understanding of what you are reading in the bible. Folks this issue is very dear to my heart and I’m constantly broken in my spirit when I see Christians with distorted view of God. I live you with this prayer of Paul to the Ephesians Church recorded in Eph.1:16 which reads: “I ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better”. …Great Igwe.
